Where the Hell Does Conquest Live? The Tragic Truth About the Viltrumite

In the vast universe of Invincible, there are few beings as feared as Conquest. Known for his absolute brutality and unwavering loyalty to the Viltrum Empire, he is a force of nature. But behind the blood and the battles, there is a surprisingly grim reality about his personal life.

The Call for a Monster

The story begins when Regent Thragg hears rumors about a mysterious beast possessing incomprehensible strength. To deal with this potential threat, Thragg makes the immediate decision to send the only Viltrumite truly capable of facing it: Conquest.

At first, General Kregg flat-out refuses to be the one to deliver the message because he absolutely hates him. However, Thragg demands that Kregg go find the seasoned warrior.

The Saddest House on Viltrum's Moon

Following orders, Kregg travels to Viltrum’s Moon, which is exactly where Conquest’s home is located. What’s genuinely interesting is the structure itself: it’s just a small, empty cube.

There is no bed. There is no door. There is only an opening in the ceiling where he flies in and out. Even a hardened warrior like Kregg openly admits that it’s the saddest house he has ever seen.

A Living Weapon

However, this bleak living situation has a very clear explanation. Conquest is fundamentally a weapon, and his only purpose in life is to complete missions and conquer planets for the empire. That is his entire existence.

Because of this, he simply doesn’t care about comfort. In fact, he actively avoids it. He travels endlessly from planet to planet, often sleeping directly on the ground, remaining in a constant, unbroken state of combat. To his mindset, having a bed or enjoying a comfortable home would only make him weaker.

The Tragedy of Conquest

This grim reality makes him arguably the saddest character in Invincible. He has no real name, no one loves him, and he is universally seen as a monster. On top of all that, he lives in a hollowed-out cube. And while Conquest has undeniably caused a massive amount of pain across the galaxy, in his mind, he is simply following orders and fighting for a cause he genuinely believes is right.
